Titan Tire Steps Up to Help Farmers

Titan Tire Corp. supported WHO radio’s "Wishes Do Come True" contest, and is providing two gifts of $1,500 each to nominees in need of new ag tires.

Skip Sagar, Titan’s manager of sales for Iowa, explained, "Listeners were asked to nominate someone they know who needed a hand up instead of a hand out. We were looking for people who were stretched and could use a pat on the back."

Harold Mitchell from Russell, Iowa, sent in a letter nominating his friend Jerry Harvey from Promise City, Iowa. Both men were selected as the co-winners of the Wishes Do Come True contest. Local Titan dealer Graham Tire Des Moines Commercial delivered the tires to the winners’ farms in Southern Iowa. Sagar stated both men were very thankful for being chosen.

“Titan is very appreciative of the work farmers do in feeding this great nation and the way they take care of each other,” Sagar said. “People all across Iowa, just like the rest of the nation, are experiencing some difficulties for no fault of their own. This contest helps show the Iowa spirit, helping your neighbor.”

If you could boil this year's Continental Tire GOLD member meeting into one takeaway, it's that the tire manufacturer is putting a whole lot of effort into listening and responding to its dealer base. Continental doesn't own company stores, so building a strong value proposition around the company's brands and products with its distributors and retailers is the most effective path to success. To maximize the mutual benefits of this partnership, Continental leadership says acting on the will of its dealer base – whether that's about product, programs, distribution, or anything else – is paramount.
