Titan International will be laying off more workers at its factory in Quincy, Ill, after laying off workers in May.
“All major agriculture equipment manufacturers have been reducing employment levels over the past year,” said a Titan spokesperson. “Just last week one of our major customers announced it had to lay off over 100 workers due to a slow-down in the farm economy. It is always a tough decision to eliminate jobs, but with the dramatic decrease in orders, reductions are necessary at this time. When market conditions improve and orders increase, we will be able to support higher employment numbers. In the meantime, we appreciate the hard work of all our team members and we know their continued commitment will help us move forward successfully.”
The number of layoffs has not been released.
