Tire stewards may be pleased to learn of some reductions to the Manitoba and Ontario tire stewardship fees.
Both organizations are making cuts to some of their recycling fees, according to the Tire & Rubber Association of Canada.
Effective May 1, the Ontario Tire Stewardship will reduce fees on new passenger and light truck tires to $4.75. The group has also set fees for new medium truck tires at $12.95.
TRAC said that this is the third reduction since 2009 in recycling fees on passenger and light truck tires in Ontario.
Effective April 1, Tire Stewardship Manitoba will set its recycling fees on small tires to $3.75.
TRAC stated that, with this reduction, Manitoba will have the lowest stewardship fees on small tires in Western Canada.
