A 40-year-old New Hampshire woman was killed in a highway accident involving a tire that fell off a truck on Wednesday morning.
The tire bounced around I-93 before striking the SUV killing the driver, according to local media.
Around 8 a.m., a tire came off a tractor-trailer heading southbound and then bounced into the northbound lanes on I-93. The tire struck an unmarked state police cruiser before bouncing back into the southbound lanes killing Kerry Anderson-Baker of Concord, N.H.. The officer of the unmarked police cruiser was uninjured.
The tractor-trailer, which was carrying a modular home, kept driving, paid a toll and then pulled over briefly before driving away again, police said. It is not clear if the driver knew what happened.
So far no charges have been filed.
