Mankato, Minn., police concluded that the death of a tire store employee who was killed when a truck struck him inside a tire store was not the result of any criminal actions.
Police reported that the owner of the truck helped a store employee remove a jack after he had its tires replaced. Once the jack was removed, he jumped into the truck, started it and began to drive forward. Police stated that was when the truck owner heard people yelling and stopped the truck.
Mankato Department of Public Safety Deputy Director Amy Vokal told KTOE-TV that their investigation found nothing criminal and no charges will be recommended.
Minnesota OSHA is continuing its investigation to “determine the cause of the accident and determine whether existing OSHA standards were violated to help avoid a recurrence of similar accidents.”
