Tire Discounters, the ninth largest provider of tires wheels and automotive services in the U.S., announced it plans to open its first Nashville store in spring. The company has plans for a dozen additional locations by early 2015.
Tire Discounters anticipates opening locations in Mt. Juliet, Smyrna, Bellevue, Hendersonville and Brentwood the first half of 2014. With about a dozen locations planned for the Nashville region over the next 15 months, Tire Discounters will be hiring more than 120 Nashville-area residents to operate the stores.
Each new location will feature clean, comfortable showrooms with clear views of the shop area so customers can watch their vehicles being repaired. Customers can also monitor the work being performed on their cars through live-stream videos in the waiting room. There will also be Wi-Fi, a refreshment bar and six TV screens for the customers.
Tire Discounters also wants to push toward more eco-friendly standards in both the new stores’ constructions and ongoing operations. Construction will include the use of energy efficient glass throughout the store and recycled rubber materials in landscaping. The stores will be outfitted with LED lighting and light reflecting roofs, which help to reduce energy costs.
Tire Discounters’ other green initiatives include recycled oil and tire programs, as well as nitrogen tire inflation, which significantly extends the life of tires, creates fuel efficiency and cuts down on emissions. Tire Discounters also offers Valvoline NextGen semi-synthetic recycled motor oil as its preferred oil in all locations.
