TIA Has Full Slate of Special Events Planned For SEMA Show

(Akron/Tire Review) The Tire Industry Association (TIA) continues as the presenting sponsor of the Performance Tires & Wheels section of the 2006 SEMA Show – Oct. 31 to Nov. 3 – and is developing a wide range of seminars and special events for attendees.

TIA’s host hotel for this year’s SEMA Show is Caesar’s Palace. It is there that TIA will host its Annual Meeting, its Welcome Reception, and the well-attended Breakfast With the President events.

The Annual Meeting, set for 11:30 a.m. on Monday, Oct. 30, is open to all TIA members, will also feature presentation of this year’s Michelin Scholarship winners.

TRIB will hold its member meeting that same day from 4 to 6 p.m. at Caesar’s Palace.

TIA’s Welcome Reception will be held on Monday, Oct. 30 from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. at the spacious Neptune Poolside at Caesars Palace. There will be several cash drawings, as well as music, cocktails and hors’ d’oeuvres. Tickets are $50 and can be ordered at www.tireindustry.org.

The first full day of the 2006 SEMA Show starts with TIA’s annual Breakfast With the President, which runs from 7 to 9 a.m. in the Roman Ballroom at Caesars Palace . The event will include induction of the 2006 class to the Tire Industry Hall of Fame, and will feature speeches by outgoing TIA President Bob Malerba, and incoming president Paul Hyatt. Cooper Tire will give away a two-year car lease to one lucky attendee, and a number of other special activities are planned. Tickets for this event are $35 and can be ordered online.

The Performance Tires & Wheels section of the SEMA Show will be held in the South Hall of the Las Vegas Convention Center. Show hours are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 31 through Thursday, Nov. 2, and from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 3.
