TIA Announces GTE Educational Sessions

The Tire Industry Association has unveiled a schedule of educational sessions for the Global Tire Expo – powered by TIA during the SEMA Show.

“Our industry is constantly changing and our educational seminars, led by industry experts, are designed to equip you with the tools you will need to keep up with those changes. With a variety of topics to choose from, there is certainly something for everyone at GTE,” said Kevin Rohlwing, TIA senior vice president of training.

Kicking off GTE’s educational seminars are three sessions on Nov. 3: “New Developments in TPMS and Tool Technology” at 10 a.m.;  “Truck Tires: Road Service Safety” at 10 a.m.; and  “Successful Tire Dealers Share their Secrets” at 2 p.m.

The New TPMS and Tool Technology will feature OE sensor manufacturers discussing new products and where TPMS is headed, TIA said. The second half of the session will feature tool manufacturers sharing tips and tools to service TPMS and turn it into a profit center for your dealership.

Truck Tires: Road Service Safety will examine the risks associated with emergency road service and provide tips for dealers to protect employees, TIA said.

Successful Tire Dealers Share Their Secrets will feature Tire Review’s Top Shop winner, as well as winners from Modern Tire Dealer’s Dealer of the Year and Tire Business’s Humanitarian Award. The group will offer some insight on what they think has made them successful and, following the presentation, participate in a Q&A session.

Five sessions are scheduled for Nov. 4: “Truck Tires: TPMS for Trucks” at 10 a.m.; “Aftermarket Wheels and Tires – Right Sale, Right Fit,” at 10 a.m.; “
Women Driven: Women in Business – Shattering the Glass Ceiling!” at 1 p.m.; “Management: Training More Than Tires” at 2 p.m.; and the Global Retread Symposium at 3 p.m.

With inflation pressure maintenance becoming more important for fleets with rising tire costs and CSA regulations, Truck Tires: TPMS for Trucks will focus will focus on different types of TPMS technology used by fleets and service requirements for each system, TIA said.

The Aftermarket Wheels and Tires- Right Sale, Right Fit seminar will feature information from TIA and the SEMA Wheel & Tire Council to help tire dealers make tire and wheels sales and complete the install. The session will focus on the effects of various plus-sizing decisions on vehicle dynamics and provide techs with the resources they need to correctly and quickly install aftermarket wheel and tire packages, TIA said.

Women Driven: Women in Business – Shattering the Glass Ceiling is a female only networking and education special event.  Powered by SEMA Businesswomen’s Network and TIA the event will feature a panel of successful women in the automotive industry participating in an open dialogue on what it takes to excel in business, TIA said.

Management: Training More than Tires will focus on what training obligations, beyond tires, that tire dealers should provide their staff. The session will also outline different training requirements a tire dealer should consider when developing a training program.

TIA has teamed up with the Tire Retread & Repair Information Bureau to host a Global Retread Symposium. The event will feature retread industry leaders and professionals from around the world discussing retread issues that impact the industry as a whole, TIA said.
