TBC Unveils Funnycar, Plans to Support Alex’s Lemonade Stand

Supporting Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation is a major undertaking for TBC’s Retail Group. The unit – Tire Kingdom, NTB-National Tire and Battery, Merchant’s Tire and Auto Centers and Big O Tires – raises thousands of dollars each year to support the drive to find a cure for all children with cancer.

TBC Retail Group unveiled the Top Fuel Funny Car design to benefit Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation. The entry will run at the 2011 Mopar Mile-High NHRA Nationals in Denver on July 22-24.

The Lemonator Funny Car will be driven by Service Central driver Johnny Gray, and the winning design was chosen by fans of the Service Central Racing Facebook page.

The car design is just one of the ways TBC Retail Group is supporting ALSF this year, the company said. The stores themselves will hold grassroots fundraising efforts through the month of July by hosting lemonade stands. Additionally, TBC Retail Group will also match up to $25,000 during its’ Text to Donate campaign – text “Cancer TBC” to 85944 to make a $5 donation until Aug. 1.
“We are excited to add the race and text to donate elements to the fundraising efforts this year,” said Bob Crostarosa, senior vice president of marketing for TBC Retail Group. “This is our way to help find a cure for childhood cancer. We encourage our customers and race fans alike to join us in the fight.”
