TBC Becomes Sponsor of Petty NASCAR Entry

(Akron/Tire Review) Sumitomo Rubber Industries’ TBC Corp. unit has got the NASCAR bug. TBC has become the primary sponsor for Kyle Petty for four NASCAR Nextel Cup series events.

TBC said its Tire Kingdom retail chain will be the prime sponsor for Petty’s cars in races at Darlington, S.C., on May 13 and at Lowe’s Motor Speedway in Charlotte, N.C., on Oct. 14.

For the race on May 6 at Richmond, the car will carry the Merchant’s Tire & Auto Center logo, and for the Mar. 19 race in Atlanta, the car will be adorned with the National Tire & Battery chain logo. In addition, all three retail groups will be represented on Petty’s car throughout the year.
