The NPD Group has revealed the winners of its first Aftermarket Performance Awards, which were shared with the recipients during the Automotive Aftermarket Products Expo (AAPEX) in Las Vegas. Cooper Tire won the award for having the top market share increase in the tires category.
Tire Sales Show Growing Desire for Larger Vehicles Over Sedans, NPD Reports
Across the country, larger tires are rising in popularity – 17-inch+ rim diameter tires have gained nearly 12 unit share points over the last three years, according to retail sales data from The NPD Group. These larger tires now account for almost half of all passenger car/light truck units sold across the U.S, NPD says.
