Doug Miller, the president of St. Lucie Battery & Tire in Florida, is giving back to his community in an innovative way.
Treasure Coast Newspapers reports that when St. Lucie Battery & Tire hosted a recent Treasure Coast Builders Association’s Fun After Five networking event, Miller announced a plan that “perfects the art of re-gifting,” the article reads.
In April, Miller had the winning bid of $44,000 when St. Lucie Habitat for Humanity auctioned off its 188-square-foot Diamond Lil’ Tiny Home, the news outlet reported. Now, he is re-raffling the home to raise even more money, hopefully tens of thousands more, the newspaper says, for Habitat so it can continue building better communities.
Raffle tickets cost $20 to win the home on wheels. The newspaper reported that “ticket sales got off to an enthusiastic start at the Treasure Coast Builders Association’s event as Miller said, ‘Habitat is a great organization, and St. Lucie Battery & Tire is proud to be a partner.'”
