Sentury Tire Americas said the recent Department of Commerce final determination on antidumping and countervailing duties hasn’t altered its plans for growth in the U.S. tire market.
“We are a global brand with a marketing and manufacturing presence beyond China and the United States,” said Maxwell Wee, director of sales for. “We view this recent decision as a temporary setback and are proceeding with our worldwide expansion.”
Sentury added it will formally announce the grand opening of a new headquarters and warehouse location in Miami, Fla., later this month. In February, the company announced the opening of a new warehouse in Memphis, Tenn.
Sentury Tire’s parent company, Qingdao Sentury Tire Co., will open a new manufacturing facility during the third quarter of 2015. The facility, located near Bangkok, Thailand, will build the complete line of Landsail and Delinte Tires, including the new light truck AT, HT and MT tires.
“We expect our tire sales to continue to be robust for the remainder of 2015 and, even in light of the tariff/duties that are being levied, Sentury Tire still has a program that will work for our distributors and dealers to maintain their competitiveness,” added Wee.
