#SEMA/GTE: Omni United Showcases Timberland, Radar Brands

Omni United Timberland tiresOmni United is showcasing its newly launched Timberland A/T tire at this week’s SEMA Show/Global Tire Expo (booth #43209). Additionally, the company’s booth features its Timberland Cross line and Radar brand of tires.

The Timberland A/T is designed to provide off-road capabilities and rugged looks without sacrificing on-road manners, Omni said. The tire features stabilizer ribs between the large tread blocks and beveled block points. Additionally, Timberland A/T offers a UTQG of 500 AB and is backed by a 50,000-mile warranty.

The tire complements the company’s Timberland Cross line, allowing Omni to offer complete coverage of the CUV, SUV and light truck market, the company said.

Timberland tires are purposely designed to be recycled into footwear outsoles after their on-road life is complete. The tires were introduced during last year’s show.

“We want to demystify tires for this audience, bring some of the excitement and sizzle of the fashion industry to our category, and positively contribute in the area of sustainability,” said G.S. Sareen, founder and CEO of Omni United.

Also at the show, Omni launched its “Timberland Tires $100 Savings Event” promotion, which runs through Dec. 6 and offers consumers rebates worth $100 with the purchase of four Timberland tires. The promotion, available at any Timberland Tires retailer, offers consumers $50 in savings at the time of purchase and a $50 Timberland e-gift card once the tires have been registered online.

In addition to its Timberland line, the company highlighted its complete Radar tire offerings, including the newly introduced Renegade R7 M/T and Radar RW winter tire line.
The Radar Renegade R7 M/T is an off-road tire designed for enhanced durability in harsh gravel and rock, plus traction in deep mud, sand and snow, Omni said. The tire features a raised nub between the tread blocks that assists with stone ejection, a three-ply body construction, and shoulder side-biters to help add traction in loose surfaces, according to the company.

The Radar Renegade R7 M/T tire will have a total of 30 sizes; 14 sizes are available now, with 16 more sizes planned for market introduction in 2016.
The new Radar RW winter tire line-up includes three products: the Radar RW-5, RW-5+ and RW-5S.

All of the tires have similar features, but carry distinct size ranges and offer block placement, siping density and construction that have been tuned for the unique characteristics of the principal fitments taking each size. This “customization” by vehicle type helps the tire work in conjunction with the particular suspension and handling characteristics to deliver improved handling, comfort and grip, according to Omni.

The Radar RW-5 is designed mostly for compact to mid-size passenger vehicles, but includes some sizes for some small CUVs. The tire comes in 16 sizes targeted for the most common winter tire sizes and are mostly H-rated.

The Radar RW-5+ is designed for mid to large sports cars, luxury sedans and mid and full-size CUVs, and its tread design and construction are designed for increased weight, longer wheelbase and high speed handling capabilities, Omni noted. The tire is V-rated.

The Radar RW-5S targets full size SUVs, with two T-rated sizes and four H-rated sizes. The tread pattern includes large tread blocks and wide-open grooves that provide grip in packed snow, slush and muddy surfaces, Omni said.

In addition to tires, Omni’s booth features a customized 2015 Urban Warrior Land Rover Defender sporting a set of Timberland A/T 275/55R20 tires.
