SEMA in Review: A Look at the Sights from the Show

It was a busy four days at the Las Vegas Convention Center and area hotels as the 2009 SEMA Show hit town last week.

With a crowded show floor at the convention center, exhibitors got a lot of positive face time with active buyers, while attendees enjoyed an array of educational seminars. TIA itself hosted its first International Roundtable, where North American dealers and suppliers got to compare notes with some of their international counterparts.

In addition, TIA hosted its annual Tires @ Two seminars, with sessions on TPMS updates and training and another with dealers sharing their business secrets.

TIA’s first Tire Industry Honors event was very well received. The pre-SEMA evening event at Caesars Palace included the formal induction of the 2009 class to the Tire Industry Hall of Fame, the presentation of the 2009 Tire Review Top Shop winner Enger Tire of Cleveland, and awards by other industry publications.

TIA’s annual general meeting featured the ceremonial passing of the gavel from outgoing president Dan Beach to incoming chief Wayne Croswell, and the seating of the new board of directors. In addition, Michelin was on hand to announce the winners of the annual TIA/Michelin Scholarship Program.
