Pro-Cut recently partnered with a pair of charities that help those in need receive automotive service training.
In April, the company donated an on-car brake lathe to the Delancey Street Foundation in Los Angeles, a nonprofit organization that helps former substance abusers, ex-convicts, homeless people and others rebuild their lives. All residents learn a marketable skill and at least a high-school equivalency degree. When ready, residents enter one of multiple vocational schools, which include a program in automotive service training.
“We are pleased to support the good work of the Delancey Street Foundation, and we appreciate their efforts on behalf of our industry and the community,” said Jeff Hastings, Pro-Cut president.
Pro-Cut also partnered with the Youth Automotive Training Center in Deerfield Beach, Fla., which trains and educates at-risk youth in basic automotive repair skills, academic remediation, job readiness and life management skills.
John Czipulis and Terry Bly, two Pro-Cut reps from Florida, recently visited YATC to train and educate staff members and students. Pro-Cut donated a Warthog lathe to the facility. The center also agreed to partner with Pro-Cut as a national training location for the TrainSMART program.
