A disruption in the supply of steam power to Goodyear’s Gadsden, Ala., plant resulted in work cancellations for some employees at the plant.
A power loss early Thursday morning resulted in workers in component prep, tire assembly and curing to not report to their evening shift. Curing associates reported to work at 7 a.m. today, while component prep and tire assembly associates will report to work at 1 p.m., according to local news reports.
The regular work schedule will continue today for all engineering/maintenance associates and those working in the mix center, mold and bladder and final finish.
The interruption is short-term, and will not affect customer orders, according to plant officials.
