Piedmont Truck Tires is ASA’s 2011 Dealer of the Year

Greensboro, N.C.-based Piedmont Truck Tires received the 2011 Dealer of the Year award from ASA Automotive Systems (formerly ASA Tire Systems). Greg Herring, Piedmont CFO, accepted the award from Dave Vogel, ASA’s vice president of sales, at the ASA annual InfoExpo user conference in Atlanta, Ga.

The award gives special recognition to one customer annually that has proven to be a strong partner by embracing technology and innovation, and assisting ASA in driving the development of its software solutions forward, the company said.

“It feels great to know that our efforts and hard work didn’t go unnoticed. We sure have set out to implement a lot of changes,” said Herring.

Those changes include installing TreadX, along with SonicWall upgrades at all Piedmont locations. Other technologies that Piedmont will be implementing include electronic signature capture, an electronic document management system and handheld devices that will be used for Goodyear’s GTRACS system and ASA’s Carside and Mobility applications. An automated workflow, with TreadX’s Ship & Bill Retread Management application, is also in the works.

“We have always felt that the more information we could capture and make available to our customers, the better advantage we would have over our competitors,” Herring said. “We also wanted to be more efficient with our resources and reduce the amount of effort needed to get the same results. We believe the steps we have taken will better enable us to compete now and in the future.”
