A Phoenix tire shop owner has been arrested for trading services and cash for food stamp cards, according to local media.
Phoenix police report that they conducted a three-month undercover investigation that revealed the owner of Los Campos Tire shop was purchasing food stamp cards and in some cases accepting them as payment for tires and other services.
During their undercover investigation a police officer was to sell a card with over $800 for $400 in cash.
Following his arrest, the shop owner allegedly admitted that he purchased ‘Electronic Benefit Cards’. He has been charged with fraudulent schemes.
