Perfect Equipment Changes Corporate Name

Wheel weight producer Perfect Equipment Inc. has changed its corporate name to Wegmann Automotive USA Inc.

The company’s Canadian arm also changed its name and is now Wegmann Automotive Canada Inc.

The change was effective Jan. 1, and applies only to the company’s corporate names. The 75-year-old product brand name ‘Perfect Equipment’ and its ‘Hofmann Power Weight’ brand name will remain unchanged. The Murfreesboro, Tenn.-based unit offers a range of lead, non-lead, knock-on and adhesive wheel weights.

The newly adopted North American operating name is a reflection of the overall parent company – Wegmann Automotive – which has been the parent company of Perfect Equipment since 2005, the company said.

The name change “helps galvanize the Wegmann Automotive global platform and provides consistency to markets worldwide,” the company said.

“Our top priority is to bring superior value to our customers,” says Jeff Waechter, President and CEO of Wegmann Automotive USA. “By continuing to deliver market leading products under our Perfect Equipment and Hofmann Power Weight brand names and by providing ‘best in class’ service using our Wegmann Automotive global network of teams, we feel we have set the stage to offer our customers the best value in the industry.”

If you could boil this year's Continental Tire GOLD member meeting into one takeaway, it's that the tire manufacturer is putting a whole lot of effort into listening and responding to its dealer base. Continental doesn't own company stores, so building a strong value proposition around the company's brands and products with its distributors and retailers is the most effective path to success. To maximize the mutual benefits of this partnership, Continental leadership says acting on the will of its dealer base – whether that's about product, programs, distribution, or anything else – is paramount.
