Nokian Tyres ended statutory negotiations and will layoff 122 production workers and administrative staff at its Nokia, Finland, plant.
Nokian had put the factory’s union on notice that it wanted to consider laying off 900 people, but the company and the union came to an agreement to let go 122 workers and staff.
Cutting 122 jobs will still allow for adjustments to production capacity utilization and cost savings, Nokian said.
The company said it will organize training and support programs for dismissed employees for re-employment opportunities.
