The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has scheduled several online training sessions on how to use its new recall reporting Web portal.

The agency will host the training sessions between July 28 and Aug. 8. The specialty session for tire manufacturers is scheduled for Aug. 5 from 9-11:30 a.m. EST.

General sessions are scheduled for the mornings of July 28-31 and Aug. 7-8 from 9-11:30 a.m. EST, and the afternoons of Aug. 1 and Aug. 4-6 from 1:30-4 p.m. EST.

Beginning in August, NHTSA will require tire, auto and auto parts manufacturers to submit recall reports and related documents through a Web-based Internet portal.

Participants interested in registering for one or more of the sessions should send an email to [email protected], listing the first and last names of participants, company name and address, desired dates, desired times and alternate dates and times in the event that a class time is already full. The registration deadline is July 25.
