Nexen Tire has opened a sales branch in Bogota, Colombia, its second in South America.
According to Nexen, Columbia is the third biggest market in South America after Brazil, where it also has a sales office, and Argentina. It has a reported demand of around 4 million units a year. With its booming economy, the tire market in the country is also expected to grow.
Nexen’s Bogota branch was opened in January 2012. Its primary goal is to grow in the residing Colombian market, but the ultimate goal is to expand sales in Venezuela, Ecuador and other countries in South America and the Caribbean area.
The branch will be run by branch manager Jason Yoo and sales assistants Maria Elena and Julio Cesar. More salespeople will be hired in the second half of 2012. (Tyres & Accessories)
