Tire Industry Association (TIA) held its annual general meeting Monday with its new president taking the helm.
Former TIA President David Martin passed the gavel to John Evankovich, director of operations for Sam’s Club Tire & Battery, thanking the industry for his time as president and wishing Evankovich the best for the year ahead.
“John it is time to pass the gavel to you signifying the transfer of leadership from this year’s president to the next,” Martin said. “It has been a pleasure and an honor to serve as president of a thriving organization like TIA. I wish you the same level of success in the year ahead.”
Martin also honored outgoing board members which include: Mike Baggett, formerly with Yokohama Tire Corp; Tom Formanek, vice president of Stellar Industries; and Tom Schadl, vice president of sales and marketing with K&M Tire.
Evankovich announced the new members of TIA’s board, which include: John Baldwin, chief product and technical strategist for the Discount Tire Company; Russell Devens, director of safety and risk management for McCarthy Tire Service; Stephen Lyons, director of training for Monro Inc.; Don Vanderheyden, vice president of marketing for Hennessy Industries; and Keith Jarman, president of AME International.
