New Eagle to Feature Goodyear Carbon Fiber Technology
The new line will be available in May with 24 sizes targeting performance touring sedans.
The new Eagle featuring ResponsEdge Technology features an outboard sidewall reinforced with a carbon fiber insert for stiffness, resulting in “responsive handling and steering precision,” according to Goodyear.
The tire’s belt package includes Goodyear’s Kevlar-based InsuLayer, “to help provide a smooth, quiet ride, along with promoting even treadwear,” said the company.
A dual-compound, asymmetric tread has an “all-season zone” with an open tread pattern, aquachutes for water dispersion, and TredLock technology microgrooves. The outboard “Performance Zone” consists of “performance tread blocks and a solid circumferential rib made with a "grip-enhancing compound” to aid traction, handing and braking, said Goodyear.
Additionally, the Eagle featuring ResponsEdge Technology offers a rim protector, and PermaBlack sidewall compound for new-tire appearance throughout the tire’s life.
The tire will be offered with Goodyear’s Eagle Performance Package, which includes a 30-day no-obligation trial, roadside assistance program, nationwide warranty service and e-mail tire rotation reminders.
