New Coats 70X Leverless Changer Launched

Hennessy Industries has launched the Coats Model 70X Leverless tire changer.

In addition to the release of the 70X Leverless, Hennessy introduced the Coats EL-X Express Lane Inflation System as an optional feature for all Coats Rim Clamp tire changers.

Hennessy said the Coats 70X Leverless “features a unique leverless mount/demount head that eliminates the use of manual tire tools, and an exclusive swing arm locking mechanism that greatly reduces the operator effort required to change even the most challenging applications.”

The changer includes “all the value-added features of the X-Series line” such as Advanced Clamp Positioning and the maker’s oil injection system.

“The 70X Leverless was designed to maximize capability and efficiency across a broad range of tire and wheel fitments, while maintaining Coats’ rugged durability, familiarity and ease of use,” said Kevin Keefe, Hennessy Industries’ vice president of marketing. “Aside from its obvious capability enhancements, the leverless system also delivers increased productivity compared to traditional mount/demount systems.”

The Coats EL-X Express Lane Inflation System is an upgrade option for all Coats tire changers. Hennessy said it was designed to be accurate within +/- 0.5 psi of desired pressure and reduce bay times, and claims time savings “of 20% or more on a four-tire ticket compared to the conventional inflation process.”

Recall

Hankook Tire America is recalling certain Kinergy GT tires, size 235/60R18H H436. The tires contain a tire identification number (TIN) that is missing the four-digit week and year code mark. As such, these tires fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 574, "Tire Identification & Recordkeeping." According to NHTSA, missing TIN information can make it difficult for tire owners to identify a tire involved in a recall. Owners may continue to drive on recalled tires, increasing the risk of a crash.
