The Bridgestone Americas passenger and light truck tire plant in Wilson, N.C., was recognized for safety with the Rising Star Certification from the North Carolina Department of Labor, the tiremaker announced.
The certification is part of North Carolina’s Occupational Safety and Health Administration Carolina Star Program.
To be awarded the certification, Bridgestone was required to have “employee involvement, management support and a cooperative relationship with North Carolina’s OSHA,” as well as conduct 37 hours of on-site evaluation and 250 teammate interviews with NCDOL staff to ensure criteria for the certification was met.
Bridgestone will celebrate the certification on July 30 at the plant.
