Today, PTNA offered more details about the new tire. “The tire is intended to create a new product segment all of its own,” said PTNA in a release, which described it as “an off-road tire that is equally at home in on-road situations.”
A new concept, which involves “sweeping” curved grooves into the basic design and then siping remaining tread blocks in a specific harmonic pattern, allows the Scorpion ATR tire to maintain all-terrain qualities without increasing noise levels, according to the tiremaker.
The Scorpion ATR size range includes 20-, 22- and 24-inch wheel diameters and offers an aggressive look, said PTNA. The tire is available in 31 sizes, ranging from 15- to 24-inch wheel diameters, and in both LT- and P-metric versions.
