An aircraft maintenance company in Kansas City reported that thieves brought its facility and rolled away with some $20,000 in heavy equipment tires.
The thieves, according to Garsite Aircraft Refuelers, knew what they were doing, wielding machetes to carve a path through heavy brush to hide their actions, and brining in pre-cut wood blocks to hoist up the vehicles.
In all, 18 tire and wheel sets were removed from the refueling vehicles. (Tire Review/Akron)
