Monro Expands Further With Purchase of Martino

tire-choice-total-car-careMonro Muffler Brake Inc.’s Tire Choice & Total Car Care brand is expanding further into Florida, with the purchase of Martino Tire & Service Centers’ eight retail locations in Southern Florida.

The acquisition marks yet another acquisition in Florida for Monro and could mean the end of Martino retail stores, which were owned by Zafco International, a United Arab Emirates-based importer and exporter of tires, batteries and automotive lubricants, since 2012. In North America, Zafco distributes Accelera, Zeetex and Armstrong tire brands.

According to its website, Zafco has one commercial truck center located in West Palm Beach, Fla.

Tire Review has reached out to Zafco for comments.

In its recent Q3 filing, Monro said it expects the deal to close during its fiscal 2015 fourth quarter.
