The centre of attention was Modern Tyre Service/Kumho Tyres’ announcement that the leading Northern Irish retailer would sponsor Irish Tarmac Rally Champion Eugene Donnelly.
The deal will see Kumho become the official tyre supplier of the team, while the car will be adorned with dominant Modern Tyre Service branding. Rallying is a sport which continues to deliver wide-spread media coverage across this particular region and which has an obvious association with tyres.
Commenting on the agreement Stephen Shaw, Modern Tyre Service’s group sales and marketing manager said: “We are very excited about this new deal with Eugene for the 2006 rally season. Our sponsorship deal with Eugene raises our association with rallying to the highest level, providing an excellent platform to continue to raise brand awareness, build brand preference through Kumho Tyres and drive extra revenue.”
