Michelin North America has added the Laredo Cross Country Tour to its Uniroyal lineup, marking the brand’s first entry into the CUV-, SUV- and light truck-specific market.
According to the company, the new tire brings the quiet highway ride, responsive handling and stability of a passenger car to CUV, SUV and light truck drivers. “With the same quality and dependability of all Uniroyal products, the Laredo Cross Country Tour line is setting a new standard for value-oriented touring tires,” MNA said.
“The crossover, SUV and light truck market continues to be one of the fastest growing in the automotive industry,” said Ana Martin, Uniroyal marketing communications manager. “We designed the Laredo Cross Country Tour to specifically meet the needs of those drivers. Uniroyal is known for its quality and affordability and this new product makes no exception.”
The tire features a computer-optimized tread design for a comfortable and quiet highway ride; DuraShield construction for better puncture and impact protection; a solid center rib for “on-center” feel for improved stability and control; and wide, circumferential grooves for effective water evacuation, according to the tiremaker.
The Laredo Cross Country Tour is available in sizes ranging from 15- to 20-inch rim diameters. The tires have a T-speed rating and a UTQG rating of 540-A-B. All sizes offer a 60,000-mile manufacturer’s treadwear limited warranty.
