Mitas Produces Continental Agricultural Tires for 10 Years

Mitas is celebrating a decade of manufacturing Continental agricultural tires under license. Following the signing of the license agreement in 2004, Mitas has produced more than 300,000 tons of Continental tires. Currently, Mitas offers more than 200 variations of agricultural Continental tires. Mitas recently extended its Trademark License Agreement with Continental Tires through to 2019.
“Continental branded tires are an important part of our portfolio,” said Mitas CEO Jaroslav Cechura. “We produce a major part of Continental tires at the newest European tire factory in Otrokovice, Czech Republic.”
“The main part of our sales in tons comprise Continental branded tires, but there is a clear shift toward Mitas brand tires dominating,” said Andrew Mabin, Mitas’ sales director. “We expect to sell more Mitas tires in tons in 2014 than Continental tires,” added Andrew Mabin.
Since 2004, the bestselling Continental tire made by Mitas is 420/85 R 34 AC 85 142 A8. But in recent years there has been huge demand for tires for high-horsepower machines. From 2009 to 2012, Mitas tripled production of Continental SVT tires. The largest Continental tires made by Mitas are 710/75 R 42 SVT with a diameter of 2.15 m and 1050/50 R 32 SVT with a diameter of 1.9 m. Germany is the largest market for sales of Continental agricultural tires followed by Italy, France and the UK.
“Mitas is the designer and sole producer of the latest product innovations of Continental agricultural tires range. Mitas introduced top class products like SST (Super Silent Tires) and CHO (Cyclic Harvest Operation) tires,” said Mabin. (Tyres & Accessories)
