Michigan Big O Franchisee to Liquidate

(Akron/Tire Review) After a blazing start in which it opened 13 Big O franchise locations in Michigan, U.S. Autocare LLC filed for Chapter 7 bankruptcy.

The filing came after U.S. Autocare lost leases at its nine remaining store locations.

Formed in 2002 and based in Dearborn, U.S. Autocare operated in former Penske Auto Center locations in or adjacent to Kmart stores. At one time, the company eyed having some 20 Big O stores in Michigan and then expanding into Indiana and Illinois.

U.S. Autocare filed for Chapter 11 reorganization back in October but changed its filing when the leases were terminated earlier this month by Kmart.
