The Blue Ridge Council of Boy Scouts of America honored Michelin North America Chairman and President Pete Selleck with the Distinguished Eagle Scout Award during its signature fundraiser.
Created in 1969, the award recognizes Eagle Scouts who have achieved the highest national level of success in their field after at least 25 years of having received the Eagle Scout Award.
According to the council, the award recipients also must show service to their community and volunteer leadership.
Selleck is one of less than 2,100 Eagle Scouts to receive the award nationwide and the 12th Eagle Scout to receive the award from the Blue Ridge Council.
The Blue Ridge Council provides scouting programs to youth in upstate North Carolina.
