Michelin to Sponsor Highway Safety Program

(Akron/Tire Review) Michelin North America’s (MNA) Michelin Americas Truck Tires unit will sponsor the American Trucking Associations’ Share the Road program in 2006.

A highway safety program to educate motorists about how trucks and cars can safely share the road, Share the Road, said MNA, delivers information that can reduce the likelihood of having a traffic accident with a truck or other vehicle. Professional truck drivers and highway safety partnerships are used to conduct safety demonstrations for local media in hundreds of U.S. cities.

Cars and trucks are set up in simulated highway lanes that show the common ways in which accidents happen on the road.

This past November, MNA hosted a Share the Road safety demonstration for the local media at its North American headquarters in Greenville, S.C.
