Michelin will start releasing commercial tires in India for the domestic market within the next three months from its Chennai plant, according to Hindu Business Line.
The plant currently produces 250 TBR tires daily on four assembling lines and the plant is at approximately one-third of its full annual capacity of 300,000 tires. Two additional assembly lines will open soon.
Current tires are being housed in a warehouse preparing for the launch.
The factory in Chennai occupies a third of the 300-acre plot of land. The factory will match Michelin’s largest project, its plant in Poland, according to reports.
