Michelin, Pirelli Tops in Power OE Study

(Akron/Tire Review) Both Pirelli Tire North America and Michelin North America claimed big honors in the just released JD Power & Associates 2006 Original Equipment Tire Satisfaction Study.

Pirelli received the top honor for OE tire satisfaction in the mass market/non-luxury vehicle category, while Michelin got the nod in the luxury/sport, pickup/full-size van and SUV tire categories.

PTNA President Guy Mannino said, “This is a really outstanding result for us, especially when you consider that Pirelli is a recent entrant to the mass market in North America. Everyone knows how good our ultra high performance tires are, but this award also demonstrates how Pirelli technology has been applied to our everyday products such as P6 Four Seasons, delivering high levels of customer satisfaction.”

“We are delighted that drivers continue to voice their appreciation and support for the technology, quality, performance and value of our Michelin product lines,” said Tom Chubb, vice president of marketing for Michelin Automotive Industry Division. "Our record in consumer satisfaction surveys validates our commitment to innovation and our position as the technology partner of choice for many of the world’s premier vehicle manufacturers."
