Michelin Offers Tweel SSL Discount

MichelinTweelMichelin North America has increased the supply of its 12N16.5 X Tweel SSL Hard Surface tire for applications on harsh paved or hard surfaces and is supporting Tweel customers with a special offer.

“With our new Tweel-dedicated facility now fully operational, we can now answer the demand for our Tweel airless radial offerings,” said Olivier Brauen, head of Michelin Tweel Technologies.

Through Sept. 30, Michelin is offering its Tweel customers $100 off each tire with the purchase of a set of four SSL Hard Surface tires or a set of four SSL All Terrain tires.

The Tweel airless skid steer radial was introduced two years ago for operators who are involved with construction, transfer stations, waste handling, pavement maintenance or material handling, Michelin said.

According to the tiremaker, the tire offers operators no air-pressure maintenance, easy mounting, damage resistance, increased operator comfort, reduced operator fatigue and improved productivity and longer wear life than pneumatic tires.

The tire features a smooth tread with a 100% contact surface to provide maximum tread life for pavement applications, Michelin adds. The X Tweel SSL all terrain tire features a deep, open tread for off-road applications.

“Our customers demand that their projects be done on time,” said Carlton Ashmore, equipment manager for Ashmore Bros/Rogers Group, Inc., an asphalt, milling and paving company serving Upstate South Carolina. “Our operators prefer the Tweel SSL over pneumatic tires to eliminate downtime.  We have been using the hard-surface version for several years and have no flats to fix and no issues with traction.”
