Michelin Gains OE Slot on New Lexus LC500

Lexus_MichelinDuring the North American International Auto Show in Detroit, Michelin revealed that the new Lexus LC500 luxury sports coupe will be fitted with Michelin Pilot Super Sport ZP tires as original equipment.

The Pilot Super Sport ZP tire was designed to contribute to the vehicle’s handling performance.

The tire features Michelin’s new hybrid sidewall technology that allows run-flat capabilities and superior handling performance, the tiremaker said. The new technology also reduces tire’s overall mass and rolling resistance.

“Michelin’s global development team worked very closely with the Lexus team to develop a Pilot Super Sport that helps meet the high performance and safety needs of the Lexus LC500,” said Thom Roach, vice president of OE marketing for Michelin North America. “Owners will enjoy the peace of mind that Michelin run-flat technology offers without giving up the quiet cabin and comfortable ride that Lexus owners value.”

The new Lexus has size 245/40R21 on the front and size 275/35R21 on the rear.

Michelin also unveiled the addition of the Pilot Sport All-Season 3+ to the Pilot family at the North American International Auto Show.
