Michelin North America Inc. has closed its store in Greenville, S.C., after eight years in operation, Greenville Online reports.

The store sold Michelin-branded items and apparel, and also had a tire concierge who would discuss tires with visitors and help them connect with tire dealers.

According a Michelin spokesperson, the store was an important presence for Michelin in the downtown area while open, but the store is being closed because the “company’s needs have changed.”

Michelin already has a large presence in Greenville with its North American headquarters and Americas Research and Development Corporation both located in the town, and manufacturing facilities in Greenville, Spartanburg and Anderson counties.
