McGee Tire Stores in Lakeland, Fla., a Tire Review Top Shop Finalist in 2012, is celebrating its 40th anniversary this week. The weeklong festivities were marked by a visit from the Goodyear Blimp.
“There’s going to be a crew of about 14 people, two per vehicle, that will go out, shake hands with customers and thank them for their business over the last 40 years,” Bob Lanpher, chief operating officer of the McGee tire stores, told The Ledger. There are 27 McGee locations throughout the state of Florida.
Additionally, there will be an after hours event at the company’s corporate office on Thursday, Oct. 16, coordinated by the Lakeland Area Chamber of Commerce.
The highlight of the festivities occurred the morning of Tuesday, Oct. 14 at Winter Haven Municipal Airport. Thirty-two pre-registered McGee customers were able to see a bird’s-eye view of Polk County from inside the Goodyear Blimp.
