For the fourth straight year, Maxxis will sponsor the Australian OpenTennis Tournament, which is scheduled for Jan. 13-26 in Melbourne.
In addition to being an official sponsor, Maxxis is the official tireof the event. Under the terms of the deal, Maxxis will have signage on the RodLaver Arena’s center court and is entitled to use the Australian Open logo inmarketing materials and promotional activities.
In order to capitalize on brand awareness in Australia, Maxxis hasorganized a high-impact marketing push, including a major national billboard campaignfor the lead-up and duration of this year’s Australian Open. A nationalconsumer reward will also be made available to any consumer in Australia whopurchases a set of four Maxxis tires during the Australian Open.
Maxxis has gained extensive global exposure for its brand throughsponsorship of the Australian Open. The 2013 Australian Open was broadcast tomore than 200 countries, and drew additional attention through social media andmore than 8,800,000 views on the official Australian Open YouTube channel. Thetournament also attracts a large spectator audience with last year’s eventwelcoming more than 684,000 fans.
