The company has been producing tread stock at its Madison, Tenn., plant since April 2004.
“We are proud and thankful that we have been able to achieve this important milestone,” said MTNA president and CEO Bill Sweatman. “This is the icing on the cake in a year full of successes. Our unit sales have increased more than 10% this year and along with other improvements we’ve made we have gained in both market share and market strength.”
As a token of appreciation, Sweatman presented each MTNA employee with a commemorative silver coin. The coin has the image of the Marangoni logo on one side and the Alpha-Ring press on the reverse side, with the inscription “1 millionth Ringtread, Made in the USA.” (Tire Review/Akron)
