Major Blaze Flattens Discount Tire Store

(Akron/Tire Review) The Rocky Mountain News this morning reported that a Discount Tire location in Lakewood, Colo., has suffered a severe fire, fueled by the estimated 4,700 tires in the store. No injuries were reported.

The fire broke out yesterday evening after the store closed. Flames reportedly flew some 45 feet into the air at the height of the blaze.

Shortly after firefighters began battling the blaze, the newspaper said, the entire roof covering the building’s front office and tire storage area had collapsed.
