Singapore-based Omni United announced that its Radar tire line is now being sold through the more than 800 Sears Auto Centers and online at sears.com.
Sears will start with the new, upgraded Radar RPX900 and the recently introduced Verenti R6 all-season UHP radial.
The new Radar RPX900 is an all-season, high performance touring tire. The low rolling resistance tire is available in 14 sizes.
The M+S-rated Verenti R6 UHP features an asymmetrical tread design and a UTQG rating of 400AAA. Soon to be available in 12 sizes, size expansion will continue into 2012 with the most popular OE and aftermarket sizes in the 17- to 18-inch wheel diameters.
“Having our products sold through Sears Auto Centers is a big step for Omni and for Radar. I am very confident that Radar will be a good addition to Sears tire portfolio, as they offer a compelling value-proposition to the customer,” said G.S. Sareen, president and CEO of Omni United.
Sears is supporting Radar’s “Mobilizing Hope” Campaign with various initiatives at the store level, including in-store merchandising and Mobilizing Hope signage.
“Mobilizing Hope” is a partnership between the Radar brand and the Breast Cancer Research Foundation. In an industry first, the tire company unveiled the campaign earlier this year, pledging a donation of $1 to the BCRF for each set of four Radar tires sold over the next year, with a committed minimum annual donation of $250,000 and a goal of raising $1 million.
Continuing that support, Omni United also launched its new “Ring of Hope,” a limited edition pink-walled version of its Radar RPX 900 tire.
The Radar RPX 900 is an all-season, eco-friendly tire that features an asymmetrical tread design, and targets mid- to high-performance vehicles.
The limited edition Ring of Hope version features a pink sidewall, highlighting the emblematic pink color of the fight against breast cancer cause globally. It will only be available in sizes 195/60R15 and 205/55R16, which fit an array of popular vehicles such as the Mini, Ford Focus, Honda Civic, VW Beetle,
BMW320, Chrysler PT Cruiser, among others.
The tire will be available in the U.S. starting in the first quarter of 2012.
"This is a more visible way to support Radar’s Mobilizing Hope campaign to benefit the activities of BCRF", said Sareen. We are delighted to be able to present this limited edition of one of our best selling tires, the RPX900, to reinforce our commitment to supporting breast cancer research”.
