Continental Tire the Americas took first and third place in the 2011 SEMA Show New Products Showcase Awards for its Conti Cross Contact LX20 and General Tire G-Max AS-03. Cooper Tire & Rubber Co.’s Discoverer A/T3 earned runner-up honors.
Continental’s LX 20 was launched in August to replace the CrossContact LX. The LX 20, for light trucks, SUVs and CUVs, boasts an improved fuel savings of up to 2,500 miles due to Conti’s EcoPlus+ Technology, the company said.
The General G-Max is an all-season UHP tire for sports cars, sporty coupes and high performance sedans.
The showcase event honors newly-released or forthcoming automotive products. Entered products are judged on their superiority of innovation, technical achievement, quality and workmanship, consumer appeal and marketability.
