UK company Transense Tech, based in Bicester, Ocfordshire, makes sensor systems for the automotive industry. The project will combine its surface acoustic wave tyre pressure monitoring system with Lear’s keyless receiver used in remote car-door openers.
The new system is expected to comply with the U.S. TREAD (Transportation Recall, Accountability and Documentation) Act, which requires all cars and light trucks registered after 1 September 2007, to have tyre pressure monitoring systems.
