Lawyer Nominated to Head NHTSA

(Akron/Tire Review) Nicole Nason, currently an assistant Department of Transportation secretary, has been nominated to become the new head of the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.

Nason, 35, would replace Dr. Jeffrey Runge, the former emergency medicine specialist who left NHTSA in September to become chief medical officer for the Department of Homeland Security.

Nason, who earned her law degree at Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, faces confirmation hearings before the U.S. Senate.
