Kumho to be Official Tire Sponsor of the NBA

Kumho Tire USA has teamed up with the National Basketball Association to serve as the official tire of the NBA and NBA Development League in the U.S. and South Korea.

This is the first official tire partnership for the NBA and Kumho’s first partnership with a U.S. sports league.

“Kumho Tire has most recently spent our efforts on building an even stronger foundation with our industry partners,” said Harry Choi, president and CEO of Kumho Tire North America. “We are confident this partnership with the NBA will showcase a new leaf for Kumho Tire. We are here to be aggressive competitors, supportive industry partners to our dealers and distributors, as well as a high-quality and recognizable brand amongst consumers.”

As part of its multi-year agreement, Kumho will have various branding during the NBA All-Star in New Orleans as well as serve as presenting partner of the NBA D-League All-Star Game.

Kumho’s logo will be featured on the D-League All-Star Game jersey and the tiremaker will also have oncourt brand decals, courtside and pole pad signage, and stanchions at the event.

Other aspects of the partnership include Kumho serving as presenting partner of the NBA FIT Court at NBA All-Star Jam Session. The tiremaker will also present the “NBA Playoffs Playbacks” series on NBA TV and will have courtside signage throughout the season. Additionally, Kumho will develop NBA-themed advertising.
